Prima Patterns Giveaway

1 Lot 2

Up for grabs is this small batch (7 in all)  of sewing patterns which came with Prima Magazine.  A friend very kindly gave them to me as she didn’t think she’d ever gather the courage to give them a go (Gill, I’ll deal with you later!).  The styles are a bit basic for me but would suit a beginner or someone looking to build up a pattern library.  They are sized 10-20 (UK).  They include a stylish peplum dress, a shift dress with tucks on the side, a beach cover-up or basic separates.

  1. This is awesome!!! What I would give to own just 1. I just can’t imagine 7 free patterns. If I win, there aren’t words to express my gratification, if not, I hope the winner will be as grateful for this opportunity. Thank you for the chance to enter.

  2. I learned to sew using prima patterns, way back when the magazines came with the pattern. I would buy second hand magazines just for the pattern. You can imagine how disappointed I was when they stopped including the patterns with the magazine.
Prima size 14 fits me perfectly! The patterns are rather basic but so are my skills and wardrobe! I would love to win these patterns!
    Crossing my fingers,toes,everything!

    • Can I ask what size you are normally? My aunt just have me a pattern, I’m a 14-16 and when I did my measurements I’m coming out as a size 20 according to the pattern x

      • Hi Rachel, I’m dressmaking size 12 bodice with 14 skirt. This has very little to do with the clothes I buy which are usually UK10. All the best!

  3. I would love to have the patterns as they would all suit my skill level and have a decent range of sizes. Living on the Continent, it is not always easy (or affordable) to buy patterns with English instructions. Thank you for offering them to one lucky person,

  4. Is it awful of me to say I am tempted by the peplum top and skirt? But as I have something similar I will say leave me out of the draw. It is sad that your friend is hesitant to try them. I hope she gathers courage soon!

    • Valerie, that peplum dress is so cute, I’ve decided to make it for myself! It’s my first Prima pattern and I find that it’s clear and well spaced so easy to trace (unlike the spaghetti junction of Burda magazine patterns that I’d been expecting).

As for my friend, I’ll be teaching her to make a dress soon. First step though a big one from making bags and cushions.

  5. Please count me in, I’ve never sewn with Prima patterns before. I love the peplum dress design, I could make myself a beautiful new cocktail frock.

  6. I hope it’s not too late, i will really love to have these patterns. I have bn trying to make jackets and side gathered dress like this 4 a long time. i’ll be very happy to av the pdf so I can print at home. thanks in advance
